Listed below are activities available during your stay at the Park Hyatt Beaver Creek.  Please keep in mind that activities are subject to availability, and that rates, dates and hours of operation may change.  Advanced reservations are recommended for most activities.  For more information or to book your reservations, please contact the Concierge at 970-949-1234, extension 51. 

All Terrain Vehicles Enjoy the beauty and splendor of the White River National Forest on safe and easy to ride four wheelers.  The trail will take you to elevation highs of 12,500 feet.  Along the way you will experience the historic Camp Hale area, four different mountain ranges, and the Continental Divide.  Ride through beautiful alpine meadows filled with wildflowers, rushing brooks, and wildlife.  Trip includes transportation and all necessary equipment5 years and older can ride.  16 years and older can drive with a parent/adult present.                                                                                                                                                                                                   

Avon Recreation Center 25-yard lap pool, water slide, Jacuzzi, sauna, and steam room. Cardiovascular machines, free weights area, and aerobics studio are available as well.  Hours of operation are 6:00AM-9:00PM weekdays, and 8:00AM-9:00PM weekends. 
$14.00 Adults (18-59); $10.00 Youths (3-17); $10.00 Seniors (over 65); Children under 3 free.
Twilight rate $7.00 from 7:00PM-9:00PM.

Beaver Creek Rodeo Genuine Western excitement for the whole family including a full line-up of rodeo events, petting zoo, pony rides, Western BBQ, and saloon.  Gates open at 5:00PM, Rodeo events from 6:00PM-8:00PM every Thursday night beginning June 12 through August 21, 2008 (except July 31st).  Rodeo events include: Bull Riding, Bareback, Barrel Racing, Calf Scramble, Mutton Busting, Burro Racing, and Team Roping.

Betty Ford Alpine Gardens Located at an altitude of 8,200 feet, the Betty Ford Alpine Gardens is the world’s highest botanic garden. Open daily from dawn to dusk, the gardens beautifully showcase an assortment of unique high elevation plants.  Located in Gerald R. Ford Park east of Vail Village.  Open daily Memorial Day through Labor Day, with tours, gift shop and children’s programs.  Admission is free. 

Children’s Museum Locals and tourists agree that this is a “must see” for kids and parents alike. Blue Creek Productions creates an indoor museum-style children’s activity center focused on fun, interactive and educational exhibits.  Admission is free.  Open Wednesday through Sunday from July 5th through September 3rd.  Hours are 10:00AM-4:00PM.

 

Children’s Theatre A smorgasbord of theatrical delights for kids of all ages.  Performances are fast-paced, high-energy, and focus on animating children’s literature and poetry, fables from around the world and fractured fairytales. Free performances take place on Beaver Creek Plaza every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at 11:00AM from June 25th through August 29th..

Fly Fishing Learn the sport and art of fly-fishing on a float or wade trip.  Enjoy beautiful scenery, relax in the Colorado sunshine, and experience the excitement of hooking a Rainbow or Brown Trout on your line.  Transportation and all necessary equipment provided.  Full day trips include a freshly prepared streamside lunch.  Prices do not include fishing license or flies.

Golf   Play a round of golf amongst the astounding natural beauty of the Vail Valley.  Beaver Creek Golf Course holds tee times for Hyatt guests from 10:30AM - 11:50AM daily, subject to availability.  Greens fees are $185 during peak season, which includes cart and range use.  Tee times must be booked in advance and are credit card guaranteed.  Additional courses accessible to our guests include; Vail, Eagle-Vail, Sonnenalp, Cordillera (Mountain and Summit Courses), Eagle Ranch, Cotton Ranch and Red Sky Ranch. 

Hiking and Mountain Biking Enjoy some of the most spectacular scenery around while hiking or biking on Vail or Beaver Creek Mountain.  Trail maps are available at the Concierge Desk and suggestions can be made for the trail that is right for you.  Guided hikes and bike adventures are available as well:

 Allegria Spa in the Park Hyatt offers guided hikes on Beaver Creek Mountain. Dial extension 7500 for hike times and availability.

Beaver Creek Hiking Center offers weekly scheduled group hikes as well as half day and all day private hikes. The hiking center also offers guided mountain bike tours.  Open daily May 14th-September 1st and weekends only through September 21st.  Hours are 9:00AM-4:00PM.  Located in the Beaver Creek Ticket Office.

Trail Wise Guides provides personalized and private backcountry adventures on half or full day excursions.  Nature hikes, alpine lake hikes, peak hikes, and bird watching are offered on foot.  Bikers can take a scenic cruise or race down rugged trails on a private backcountry mountain biking tour.  All tours include transportation, gear and picnic lunch.

Mountain bike rentals are conveniently located at the base of the Centennial Chairlift.  Half and full day rentals available.  Bike rentals are also available at various locations in Beaver Creek and Venture Sports in Avon.  Guided Beaver Creek, Vail Pass and Glenwood Canyon tours are available as well. 

 
horseback riding Spot wildlife, enjoy majestic mountain views, and identify wildflowers, all from the back of a well-trained horse. 
 
Guided horseback riding is available on Beaver Creek Mountain June 1st through September 1st at Beaver Creek Stables.  Rides are as follows;

1 Hour $60.00/person at 9:30AM, 11:00AM, or 2:15PM
            2 Hours $80.00/person at 10:00AM or 1:00PM
            Lunch Ride $115.00/person; approximate hours 10:30AM-1:30PM
            Beaver Lake Ride $200.00/person; approximate hours 9:30AM-3:00PM
            Private rides are also available upon request.

Bearcat Stablesis located in Cordillera, approximately 20 minutes west of Beaver Creek.  Bearcat specializes in intimate rides of 8 or less, from one hour to four days in the beautiful Rocky Mountains.  Please inquire at the Concierge for ride prices and times.

             

4 Eagle Ranch offers horse-drawn wagon rides by reservation only.  Rides are $10.00/person ($50.00 minimum).  Trail rides are also offered on the ranch for all levels of riders.  Cattle drives and advanced rides provide fun and excitement for the more experienced rider.  Enjoy horseshoes, volleyball, steer head roping, and ranch animals, as well as lunch at the 4 Eagle Grill and shopping at the Trading Post.  Western Family Nights are held most Wednesdays during the months of July and August from 5:00PM-9:00PM. The evening includes a BBQ buffet dinner, live music, dancing, wagon rides, fly-fishing clinics, campfire and marshmallow roasting.  Cost is $50.00 for adults, $25 for seniors 62 and over and children 5-12 years old.  Children 4 and under are free.

Hot Air Ballooning is available through Camelot Balloons year-round. The balloons fly daily in the morning (weather permitting) and all flights include hot drinks during inflation, a unique post flight ceremony, certificate, and champagne toast.  The Taste of Ballooning Tour has a flight time of approximately 30-40 minutes and costs $190.00/person.  The Full Excursion Tour lasts approximately 60-75 minutes and costs $275.00/adult, $225.00/child 6-12 yrs old and senior 65 and older.  Transportation is available for $25.00 per reservation.

Jeep & Hummer Tours Great family fun!  Morning, afternoon, and sunset tours are available. Beautiful vistas and mountain lakes are easily within your grasp.  Mountain Wolf Jeep Adventures, Lakota Guides, Nova Guides, and Timberline Tours provide unique opportunities to see the backcountry from a comfortable seat.  Transportation is provided, and tours last approximately 3 hours.  Prices range from $65.00 to $90.00 per person depending on the tour and age of the passenger.

Miniature Golf, Bungee trampoline & Climbing Wall  All activities are open 10:00AM-6:00PM daily Memorial Day through Labor Day.  For more information call (970) 845-7531. 

 

18 Holes of the finest miniature golf in the valley is conveniently located at the base of the Centennial Chairlift.  Cost is $8.00 for players 4 years to adult, and $6.00 for seniors.  Consecutive games are $4.00/person.
               
Bungee Trampoline is open to children and adults weighing 30-200lbs.  Cost is $10.00 per person.

Test your skills and sense of adventure on the 25-foot Climbing Wall, located next to the miniature golf course.  Safe and fun for all ages.  Cost is $10.00 for 3 climbs, or $15.00 for 30 minutes.
           
                             

Paragliding Get a bird’s eye view of the Rocky Mountains and Vail Valley on a tandem flight with an experienced pilot.  Flights range from $175.00-$225.00 per person.  Lessons also available.  For more information please call the Vail Valley Paragliding Association at (970) 845-7321.

Piney river ranch and lake

Located above West Vail with spectacular views of the Gore Range, this is a fabulous place for family and friends to relax, participate in fun activities, or enjoy lunch or dinner.  Guided horseback rides, canoe rentals, fishing equipment and hiking trails can provide a full day of fun.  Live entertainment and Wild West shows are offered along with a casual ranch dinner every Wednesday at 5:45PM (reservations required).  Prices for activities and events vary.  Please contact the Concierge at (970) 949-1234 extension 51 for further information.

 

Rock Climbing

Silverthorne Factory Stores are located just 40 minutes east on Interstate 70 at the Silverthorne/Dillon exit #205.  Shopping at outlet prices. 

Spruce Saddle is located atop Beaver Creek Mountain at an elevation of 10, 200ft.  Hike or ride the Centennial Chairlift.  Free lawn activities are provided including volleyball, Colorado croquet, Frisbee golf, guided family hikes, horseshoes, and an orienteering park.  A casual BBQ grill lunch is offered from 10:30AM-2:30PM during peak season.

Eagle Bahn Gondola in Lionshead and Vista Bahn in Vail Village are also running throughout the summer season!

Tennis The Beaver Creek Tennis Center has 5 clay and 2 hard courts for public use.  This full service facility provides lessons, clinics, rental equipment and retail sales.  Court fees do apply on an hourly basis.  The courts are open mid-June through mid-September.

Train Rides Enjoy the splendor of Colorado’s high county from the comfort of a train.  Trips leave from Leadville, Canon City, Silverton and Durango year round. Contact the Concierge at (970) 949-1234 extension 51 for further information.

TUBING Brave the excitement of wild white water as you float down the Colorado River in your own personal tube.  This authentic and intimate river experience takes you through one of the Colorado’s best kept secrets, Glenwood Canyon. 

Vilar Center for the Arts This beautiful 530-seat theater features premiere ballet companies, comedy entertainers, jazz, country and folk artists and an assortment of children’s programs. White Water Rafting is available mornings and afternoons throughout the summer.  The Shoshone and Upper Colorado are favorites for the family, while Gore Canyon is a Class V trip available for the thrill seekers.  Class III and IV trips are also available for those in-between!  Half and full day trips are available, and prices range from $70.00 to $150.00 per person depending on the trip.  Age and weight restrictions vary.  All tours include complimentary transportation as well as a snack or lunch.  Life jackets, wetsuits, booties, helmets and splash jackets are provided on all trips.  Please contact the Concierge at (970) 949-1234 extension 51 for trip times, prices and availability.
